Vocal+ is a paid membership for creators who want to take their presence on Vocal further. It costs $9.99/month (or $99/year) and unlocks a meaningful upgrade to how much you can earn and what you can access.

Read earnings Vocal+ members earn from reads on every published story. This is exclusive to Vocal+ - free accounts track reads but don't earn from them. Over time, especially on stories that keep getting discovered, read earnings compound.

Lower tip fees When readers tip you, Vocal+ members pay a 2.9% processing fee instead of the 7% free accounts pay. If you receive tips regularly, that difference adds up quickly.

Exclusive Stories Publish premium content for paid subscribers on your author page. Vocal+ and Stripe required. Enabled by default in Settings - see What are exclusive stories?.

Exclusive Challenges Vocal+ members can enter all Challenges, including members-only contests and Weekly Challenges - a new prompt and a new cash prize opportunity every single week. Free accounts can enter Challenges too, but a significant portion of them are Vocal+ only.

Lower withdrawal minimum Cash out at $20 instead of the $35 minimum for free accounts.

A Vocal+ badge A badge appears on your author profile that signals to readers that you're a committed, verified creator.

First access to new features Vocal+ members get early access to new tools and features before they roll out to everyone else.

If you publish regularly and are building an audience, Vocal+ unlocks read earnings, Exclusive Stories, lower tip fees, and exclusive Challenges. If you're just starting out and publishing your first few stories, a free account is a fine place to begin. You can upgrade any time from your Settings page.
