My account was disabled.

Vocal disables accounts that violate the Terms of Use or Community Guidelines. Here's what that means and what you can do.

Written by Vocal Team

Vocal reserves the right to disable any account that violates our Terms of Use or Community Guidelines. This includes accounts found to be posting harmful or abusive content, engaging in harassment, or generating artificial traffic on their stories.

Artificial traffic

Every withdrawal request goes through a security review. Our team checks that the engagement on your stories reflects genuine reader activity - not bots, traffic exchanges, click farms, or other means of gaming the read count.

If your account was disabled in connection with a withdrawal request, it means our security team reviewed your engagement data and found patterns that don't match organic reader behavior. This isn't a manual judgment call - the team uses data to confirm what they're seeing.

If you think it's a mistake

Disputes happen. If you believe your account was disabled incorrectly, open the Messenger on Vocal or the Help Center and submit a ticket and request a review. Include:

  • Your account email

  • Any context about your traffic sources (where you share your stories, what communities you're in, how you drive readers to your content)

The security team will take another look. If the finding holds, we'll explain why. If something was flagged in error, we'll make it right.
