Why is my poetry formatting gone once it's published?

Use the Poetry block in the Vocal editor to preserve your exact spacing and line breaks when publishing poems.

Written by Vocal Team

The standard text editor on Vocal is optimized for long-form prose and adjusts formatting for readability across different screen sizes. That can cause poetry line breaks and spacing to shift when published.

The fix is simple: use the Poetry block.

When you're adding content in the editor, click the + icon and select Poetry. This block preserves your exact spacing and line breaks exactly as you typed them - no reformatting, no collapsing of stanzas.

If you're working on a poem, write it in the Poetry block and it will look exactly the way you intended once it's published.
