Do I have to pay to use this site?

Vocal is free to join and use, really!

Where will my work be published?

When you submit a post, you have the ability to choose which genre specific community (site) you would like it to be considered for. Our team of moderators will ensure your content is the right fit for our network.

Don’t see a place for your content? Don’t worry – we’re continually adding communities to our Vocal network. See a full listing of our sites here.

How will my content be promoted?

Your content will be promoted throughout the community, as all users amplify the community’s publications.

The more you share, the more your content is seen. We encourage you to promote your content outside of Vocal, using these tactics.

What happens if my post is not published?

We’ll send you a notification, explaining why your content was not published, and encourage you to re-submit according to the guidelines.

Why was my content not accepted?

Reasons We Decline Content can be found here.

Can I post content from my personal blog here?

Vocal does not accept duplicate content to be published in network. If duplicate content is submitted, our moderators will send your post back to you for edits to remove it.

How do I make money on Vocal?

Monetization is available for all users of Vocal!

All published pieces are monetized on your account – and the internal dashboard allows you to view how many “reads” each of your pieces receive, and how much you have monetized.

In addition, you can earn money through Tipping, a feature that allows your readers to pay you directly for your posts.

Vocal users receive payments via Stripe, a third party banking application. In order to withdraw your earnings, you'll need to connect Stripe to your Vocal account. Learn how to do that here.

Read more about monetization here.

What is the CPM rate?

Unfortunately, we do not disclose the specific amount of the CPM. The revenue system pays content creators based on the amount of reads the article receives. Vocal's read algorithm tracks engagement on your article and assigns it a CPM rate. Therefore, an article with more engagement and reads earns more money.

What type of stuff can I create on Vocal?

Whatever you think of, you can create! Personal blogs, product reviews, science fiction stories, relationship woes; if you have a story to tell, we want you to share it with the community.

Currently, our modules allow you to add text, images, videos, and products.

Why should I publish to Vocal?

By signing up for a Vocal account, you have access to publish on multiple niche sites (with more on the way).

The community serves to share and amplify everyone’s content – which is key for being rewarded for your work. All published pieces are monetized on your account – and the internal dashboard allows you to view how many “reads” each of your pieces receive, and how much you have monetized.

The infrastructure and community that Vocal is built on, from our social network to SEO integration on the sites and several other factors, is created to draw in readers with a specialized interest in these topics, and to create a sustainable, long-form and long-term way to share and profit from your content.

Vocal encourages your content to be shared with people who are interested in reading it. Instead of publishing on a blog, where you have to create your own audience, Vocal comes with a built-in audience who is already interested in what you have to say.

How long until my post is approved?

Our team of moderators will approve or deny your content within 24 hours of submission.

Can I publish in another language besides English?

Nein! Vocal is only available in English.

Can anyone join?

Yes – all you need is an account and to be over the age of 13.

Can moderators make changes to my submitted publication?

Yes – moderators have the ability to make minor changes to your content (including grammar). If it’s anything major, we’ll send you a notification, and include what needs to be changed in order for your content to be approved.

Is it ok to create multiple accounts?

No – Vocal allows one account per user. The more you post under your own account, the more your content is amplified!

Does Vocal have an app?

We are currently a web app with plan to launch a mobile app in the future! :)
